Jacques, I received my strap and I am extremely happy. Very impressed with the quality and professionalism. Already fitted to the watch and it looks fantastic! You will definitely get more orders from me and I will recommend you to everyone I know.
Hi Jacques. The straps were waiting for me at the hotel when I arrived last night. They are both exquisite pieces of artisan work and I am truly happy with them, even more so my decision to place an order with you. Thank you & kind regards.
In a word - INCREDIBLE! I sincerely can't thank you enough for your hard work, attention to detail, outstanding communication and the overall pleasure it was to go through this process with you. You have made me a VERY happy Speedy owner and a raving fan.
1. Leather Quality:
We only use 'Full Grain’ leather, as this is real leather in it's purest form and not altered in any way, unlike that of sub-standard leathers grades that have been weakened by processes such as sanding, splitting, bonding and correcting.
2. Environmentally Friendly:
The tanning process for 'Vegetable Tanned Leather' is natural and not detrimental to the environment. 90% of the world's leather is produced using highly toxic chromium & other chemical, resulting in a negative impact on the environment and peoples health, especially in 3rd world countries.
3. Skin Allergy Free:
Due to the fact that we use natural Veg-Tanned Leather in our products and strap linings, it is very unlikely that you should develop skin irritations or obtain an allergic reaction, unlike products made from Chrome Tanned Leather that has chemicals & toxic heavy metals that can leak into your skin.
4. Supporting local business:
By purchasing from us, you are keeping a local business alive and directly helping our country's economy. We support local where ever possible.
We make and design leather goods that should last years and even decades. A real leather article should get better with age and not deteriorate with use. This is possible due to the time-tested traditional leatherwork techniques and leather quality that we use.
6. Personalised service:
You are dealing directly with the artisan who handcrafts the goods and not an Industrial Corporate Manufacturer. Your questions and concerns matter to us as we want to give you our very best.
7. Tailored Service for a Custom Fit:
We are all made differently, and therefore a one-size-fits-all’s philosophy is not going to cut it. We feel that a leather article should fit correctly and suite your personal preferences and needs.
8. Premium Solid Hardware:
What would be the point if our leather goods outlasted the hardware? We guarantee no rust or breakages under normal usage conditions. We use either solid Brass or solid 316 Stainless Steel in our buckles, rivets and other metal fittings.
Good things take time. As all of our products are hand made from start to finish, please allow for a production lead time of approximately 3-5 weeks **SUBJECT TO CHANGE without prior notice** Once your order is completed, then we arrange for our courier to collect from our premises. Please note that lead times may be influenced by order quantities, as well as demand during peak seasons where lead times may increase. We will notify you when your order is shipped out or when it is ready for collection (if such arrangement has been made with us).
Yes, we can set up a meeting to discuss your order and view our leather & thread colours in person. We typically set up meetings at our workshop premises at Belt & Band, Rust-en-Vrede Gallery, 10 Wellington Road, Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa.
Please call, email, or WhatsApp message to arrange an appointment ahead of time so that we can best assist you. Kindly note that we operate from a workshop and not a retail shop premises. Our workshop operating hours vary - please see details on the contact page.
Our commission work is exclusively focused on custom handmade watch straps. For this, you will need to contact us directly for a quotation. Unfortunately we do not offer custom work on belts, wallets or any other leather goods at this stage. Please note we also do not offer general leather repair services or alterations of any kind.

Make your axe AWESOME
Recently, Jacques was commissioned to make a sheath for a beautiful Hultaforce axe. He got so into it and decided that it needed a handle guard as well. That is what ultimately sparked the idea of hosting a new workshop.
